Important Limitations
The majority of studies are in vitro (in the laboratory) or on animal models. Large-scale human clinical trials are still lacking. Ginger is not a treatment for cancer — it is a food with bioactive properties currently being studied.
The role of inflammation
Chronic inflammation is a recognized factor in carcinogenesis. Ginger, by inhibiting NF-κB and COX-2, acts on this inflammatory area. But sugar activates NF-κB, potentially reversing this effect.
