Anti-inflammatory drink for heart health: INTI sugar-free

Anti-inflammatory drink for heart health: sugar-free INTI

Atherosclerosis is now recognized as a chronic inflammatory disease, not just a passive deposition of cholesterol. CRP-hsCRP is a better predictor of cardiovascular events than LDL in many patients. A scientifically validated anti-inflammatory drink like INTI has its place in a cardio-preventive strategy.

Atherosclerosis: not LDL, but inflammation

The modern mechanism:

  1. Oxidized LDL (oxLDL) crosses the endothelium
  2. Macrophages activate → foam cells
  3. NF-kB activated in the wall → recruitment of immune cells
  4. Unstable inflammatory plaque → rupture → thrombosis → infarction

LDL alone is not enough. Without activated NF-kB, few events occur. Targeting inflammation = key cardio-protective target.

Ginger + Turmeric + Piperine in Cardiology

  • Ginger: ↓ CRP, ↓ TNF-α, mild antiplatelet agent (Bordia 2000 study)
  • Curcumin: ↓ endothelial NF-kB, ↓ adhesion molecules (VCAM-1, ICAM-1)
  • Piperine: enhances curcumin's efficacy
  • Capsaicin: vasodilator effect + ↓ blood pressure

Clinical cardio studies

  • Meta-analysis 2018 (10 RCTs): ginger lowers LDL-c by 7-12 mg/dL and triglycerides by 15-20 mg/dL
  • Curcumin + piperine: improved endothelial function (FMD improved by 1.5%)
  • CRP-hsCRP significantly decreased in most studies

Is INTI compatible with cardio treatment?

INTI at normal doses (15-20ml/day) is compatible with most cardio treatments (statins, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, beta-blockers). CAUTION with anticoagulants (warfarin, DOACs): ginger has a mild antiplatelet effect, discuss with your cardiologist.

INTI cardio-preventive protocol

  1. Cardio advice first: do not change your treatment
  2. 15-20ml of diluted INTI in the morning, ideally before breakfast
  3. Combine with: Mediterranean diet, omega-3s, moderate physical activity
  4. Monitor: CRP-hsCRP, lipids, blood pressure at 3 and 6 months
