Male Fertility: Testosterone and Sperm
Banihani (2018) Meta-analysis — 5 clinical trials on ginger and male fertility:
- Total Testosterone: +17% on average
- Sperm Motility: significant improvement
- Sperm Morphology: improvement
- Reduction of testicular oxidative stress: reduction of MDA, increase of SOD
Mechanism: Testicular Oxidative Stress
Oxidative stress is one of the main causes of male infertility. Sperm are particularly vulnerable to oxidation (membranes rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids). Gingerol increases testicular antioxidant enzymes (SOD, catalase, GPx), directly protecting sperm quality.
Female Fertility and PCOS
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects 10-15% of women of reproductive age. It involves insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, and chronic inflammation. Ginger acts on all 3 mechanisms:
- Improved insulin sensitivity (gingerol, GLUT4)
- Reduction of androgens through metabolic improvement
- Reduction of ovarian inflammation (NF-κB)
Practical Protocol
1 INTI shot/day, in the morning on an empty stomach. Minimum duration: 8 weeks. The absence of added sugar is a major advantage for insulin sensitivity, which is directly linked to fertility.
