Was ist Candidose?
Candida albicans ist ein Pilz, der natürlich im Darmmikrobiom vorkommt. Bei gesunden Menschen wird er durch kommensale Bakterien im Gleichgewicht gehalten. Candidose entsteht bei Störung dieses Gleichgewichts — durch Antibiotika, zuckerreiche Ernährung, Immunsuppression oder chronischen Stress (Kumamoto, Current Opinion in Microbiology, 2011).
