Drink for Ramadan (Iftar and Suhoor): Ginger for energy and digestion during fasting

Ginger: the ally of Ramadan

Fasting during Ramadan (from dawn to sunset) puts a strain on the body. Ginger is the ideal accompaniment for iftar and suhoor.

For suhoor (pre-dawn meal)

  • Long-lasting energy — caffeine-free thermogenesis to last the day
  • Anti-nausea — fasting can cause morning sickness
  • Hydration — diluted in water, helps to stay well-hydrated

For iftar (breaking the fast)

  • Digestion — after 14-18 hours without eating, the stomach is sensitive; ginger gently activates it
  • Anti-bloating — prevents digestive excesses of iftar
  • Blood sugar — stabilizes the blood sugar spike after breaking the fast

Zero sugar = halal and healthy

Sugary concentrates are allowed but counterproductive during Ramadan. Sugar at iftar causes a crash that worsens fatigue the next day.

INTI — ginger + turmeric + black pepper, zero sugar. The natural accompaniment for Ramadan.
