Antiviral mechanisms of ginger
1. Direct inhibition of respiratory viruses
A study (Chang 2013) shows that fresh ginger inhibits the attachment of human rhinovirus (HRV1, the most common cause of the common cold) to respiratory cell receptors, thereby reducing infection by 68%.
