❓ Does turmeric help eczema?

There is no clinical trial showing that turmeric clears eczema or atopic dermatitis. What exists is indirect: curcumin has well-documented anti-inflammatory activity in the laboratory, and eczema is an inflammatory condition, but that logic has never been confirmed in a controlled trial on skin lesions. Taken by mouth, curcumin is poorly absorbed, and doses in the 500 to 1500 mg range need black pepper or a specific formulation to reach the bloodstream at all. Applied topically, turmeric is a frequent irritant on already broken skin and stains it yellow. The interventions with real evidence remain emollients used daily, topical corticosteroids during flares, and identifying triggers. ⚠️ Eczema that weeps, crusts, spreads or becomes painful may be infected and needs a doctor. Do not replace a prescribed treatment with a spice.
