INTI vs Gimber: Which Ginger Shot is Better for Your Health?

INTI and Gimber are two Belgian brands of organic ginger drinks. But their formulas, formats, and focus are very different. Here's an honest comparison.

The Sugar Question

This is the main difference. Gimber contains sugar — approximately 34g per 100ml of concentrate — 3× more than Coca-Cola. The problem? Sugar activates inflammation-mecanisme-cle-gingembre-sucre-explication-2026">NF-κB, the same inflammatory pathway that ginger is supposed to inhibit. You take ginger for its anti-inflammatory action, but the sugar in the same drink re-starts the inflammation.

INTI has opted for zero added sugar. The taste is more intense and spicier, but its effectiveness is not compromised by sugar.

Black Pepper: The Decisive Ingredient

INTI contains organic black pepper. The piperine in black pepper increases the absorption of turmeric by 2,000% (Shoba et al., 1998 study). Without black pepper, your body only absorbs a fraction of the turmeric.

Gimber does not contain black pepper. A large part of the turmeric (if present) will not be absorbed by your body.

Our Conclusion

Both are quality Belgian brands with organic certification. But for daily health use, INTI is objectively the best choice: sugar-free, triple formula (ginger + turmeric + black pepper), and a convenient shot format.
