Why this recipe is anti-inflammatory
The INTI elixir used in this recipe contains ginger + turmeric + organic black pepper. Piperine multiplies the bioavailability of curcumin by 20x (Shoba 1998), and [6]-gingerol inhibits the NF-kB pathway. The result: an anti-inflammatory effect much stronger than a ginger-only mocktail.
Possible variations
- Add fresh grated ginger for more spice
- Replace honey with organic maple syrup
- For a festive version: garnish with seasonal fruits
Storage
This drink should be consumed fresh, within 30 minutes of preparation. INTI elixir itself can be stored unopened for 12 months, and for 2 months in the refrigerator after opening.
