Why this recipe is anti-inflammatory

The INTI elixir used in this recipe contains organic ginger + turmeric + black pepper. The piperine in black pepper increases the bioavailability of curcumin by 20 times (Shoba 1998 study), and [6]-gingerol inhibits the NF-kB pathway. Result: a much greater anti-inflammatory effect than a ginger mocktail alone.

Possible variations

  • Add grated fresh ginger for a more pronounced kick
  • Replace honey with organic maple syrup
  • For a more festive version: garnish with seasonal fruits

Storage

This drink is best enjoyed fresh, within 30 minutes of preparation. The INTI elixir itself can be stored for 12 months unopened, and 2 months after opening in the refrigerator.
